Alexandria locals go all out for the holidays, and that includes folks who take their boats out on the water. On December 7, join a slew of other locals for the city’s annual Holiday Boat Parade of Lights at the historic waterfront. The show starts at 5:30 pm, when the line of brightly lit boats will begin streaming by the crowd of spectators gathered on shore.
When the parade finishes, you can turn back to the festivities on the dock, including a pop-up beer garden hosted by Port City Brewing Company, and a variety of other restaurants and food trucks serving meals. 97.1 WASH-FM will also be on hand playing holiday music, and the whole family will have fun at various kid-friendly crafting stations located throughout the waterfront festival. Make a couple of holiday ornaments to hang up at home, let the little ones meet Santa, and explore the vendor booths set up in the adjacent Torpedo Factory Art Center Holiday Festival.
