You probably already know that Alexandria is rife with national history—after all, George Washington frequented its pubs once upon a time. But you might not know that some of that history includes tall tales and ghost stories. That will all change after you take the Frights and Pints Old Alexandria Tour hosted by Nightly Spirits.
A guide dressed in period garb guides tour-goers around Old Town for about two hours, taking them to three or four pubs on foot. In between each stop, the guide weaves stories about the upcoming pub and the historic sites along the way, relaying some of the area’s spookiest bits of folklore. You’re offered ample time to stop and enjoy a pint or two at the bars, which are all known for their impressive beer lists. The tours leave Chadwicks every Friday and Saturday evening at various times, with a few extra excursions scheduled for the night of Halloween.
