Thank you to everyone that joined us last week at The Shelby for the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation (SFDC) Holiday Open House and Mary Thonen Beautification Awards Presentation . We were thrilled to be a part of a great evening filled with property tours, craft beer tastings by Portner Brewhouse (coming soon to Alexandria, VA), and words from Chairman Sharon Bulova as well as Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay.
If you aren’t familiar with SFDC, we encourage you to visit their website and attend one of their many events and meetings. They are great community partners of The Shelby and they are dedicated to promoting the redevelopment and revitalization of the Richmond Highway corridor of U.S. Route 1 from the beltway to Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Since 1981, SFDC has helped direct nearly $2 billion of private investment to the Richmond Highway corridor. As southeast Fairfax continues to grow with more residents and new business, our organization serves as a helpful resource for business owners, developers, property managers, and members of the community. We would not be where we are today with out their continued support. We, as a community, are lucky to have SFDC and we look forward to all of the amazing initiatives they will be implementing in 2015.
We would like to say a very special thank you to our Arlington-based event photographer, Matthew Holland Photography, who captured the evening perfectly. We hope everyone had as great of a time as we did and we hope you have a wonderful holiday!
