Yes, that’s right… August is Virginia Craft Beer Month! Didn’t know this wonderful celebration existed? Neither did we. Now that we know, we are ready to fully embrace a month of delicious IPA’s, Lagers, and Porters.
Virginia offers true local flavor at more than 60 craft breweries, restaurants and bars. Virginia Tourism has curated Craft Brewery Experiences (think wine tours with beer) all over the state. Explore these trails – Nelson 151 Trail, the Red, White and Brew Trail, the Brew Ridge Trail, or Virginia’s Blue Ridge Beer Loop – for beautiful scenery, delicious, locally-sourced meals and some of Virginia’s finest craft beer. Track your tap travels by sharing your Instagram videos and photos with #vabeer
Fortunately, you don’t have to look too far to have a great craft beer experience. We are lucky to have some amazing craft and artisan breweries in our backyard! Our friends at DCBeer have put together the Alexandria Beer Guide that includes breweries and restaurants where you can get some of the best craft beer in the area.
If you are looking for a great brewery tour and tasting, make sure you check out Port City Brewing Company – an award-winning craft brewery located at 3950 Wheeler Avenue in Alexandria, VA. For $10.00 per person, you can tour the brewery and then move into the tasting room where you receive a full tasting of their beers on tap. You can reserve your tour and tasting HERE.
AS ALWAYS, Please designate a driver. Drink responsibly.
